Welcome to our monthly Books & Bakes Club where we blend the joy of reading with the artistry of baking for a unique and delicious challenge!
Each month, we invite you to dive into a compelling novel, typically a gripping thriller or a riveting contemporary fiction. Then, it's time to let your imagination take over as you create a bake inspired by the book we just read. There are no strict rules here – it’s all up to your own interpretation. Whether it is a bake inspired by an ingredient, a scene, a season, a country, or an elusive feeling or imagery from the book, the possibilities are endless!
As the host of this project, my inspiration came from my love of reading and baking. When I started a book club with my girlfriends, I took it upon myself to take things a little further… I challenged myself to bring a book-themed bake for our book club get-togethers. I shared the unusual pairings on my Instagram and was met with quick momentum and overwhelming enthusiasm from fellow bakers and book lovers. It encouraged me to take the concept online and share it with the wider reading and baking communities.
Books & Bakes Club is designed to be a relaxed, low-pressure affair. There’s no need to commit each month – join in when the mood strikes, when you’re interested in the book or when you’re keen to get creative in the kitchen. Whether you are a seasoned reader, a baking enthusiast or simply someone who appreciates the best of both worlds, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
